Boulevardier Cocktail
The Boulevardier swaps bourbon for gin in the Negroni formula. Created by American socialite Erskine Gwynne during his expatriate years in Paris, it's named after his literary magazine, whose tagline promised readers to enjoy it "before, between and after cocktails." First documented in bartender Harry McElhone's 1927 Bar Flies and Cocktails, the Boulevardier has experienced a recent renaissance, largely attributed to its clear kinship with the beloved Negroni.
