Acceptable use policy

This policy covers anything you upload, import, or publish through Platefolio: recipe text, photos, and cookbook content.

What's not allowed

  • Sexual content involving minors. This is reported to the relevant authorities, not just removed.
  • Any other content that's illegal to host or distribute.
  • Sexual or graphic imagery.
  • Content that promotes violence or hatred against people.
  • Malware, or files disguised as recipe photos.
  • Using recipe photo uploads as general-purpose file hosting for things unrelated to a recipe.

Recipes and copyright

A recipe's ingredient list and its steps are, on their own, largely not copyrightable. The headnote, the photos, and the surrounding prose usually are. Importing someone else's recipe for your own use is fine. Republishing their photos or their writing as your own is not.

If you believe your copyrighted work has been republished here without permission, contact us with the recipe or page in question and a description of the work it copies.

Reporting a problem

Email contact@platefolio.app. Include a link to the page or recipe and a short description of what's wrong. Copyright complaints should identify the original work and the page that copies it.

What happens after a report

Content that violates this policy can be removed or unpublished. Accounts that violate it can be suspended or terminated, with their stored files deleted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here.
